Ukraine redirects transit gas due to fire on ammunition depot

KIEV, Mar 23 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian gas pipeline system operator Ukrtransgaz has redirected the flow of Russian gas due to a fire at an ammunition depot in the Kharkov Region, spokesman for the company Maxim Bilyavsky said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“We guarantee -- we have redirected the transit flow via (Russian measuring station) Sudzha, loading of the route grew by 82 million cubic meters. Surplus amounts to 56%. We fulfill the orders,” Belyavsky said.

The ammunition depot caught fire and detonated early on Thursday. According to preliminary data, the depot was attacked.

According to the Ukrtransgaz official’s post, pipeline infrastructure has not been affected. Transit of Russian gas to the E.U. and Moldova remains stable.
